Lila's
Ginger Cookies
Ingredients
¾ cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup molasses
2 eggs
2 ¼ cups flour
1 ½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
granulated sugar
Preparation
Sift together dry ingredients and set aside.
Cream together the shortening and brown sugar.
Add molasses and eggs, beating well.
Mix in the dry ingredients.
Form into 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.
Place 2 inches apart onto a baking sheet.
Bake at 3750 F for 10-12 minutes.
Yield: 4 – 4 ½ dozen cookies.
